Backroll’s Integration with Apache CloudStack From DIMSI
Backroll is an open-source backup solution for KVM guests provided by DIMSI. BackRoll integrates with Apache CloudStack through a native plugin developed to support full, incremental, and differential backups of virtual machines hosted on KVM. The integration is designed to be policy-driven and automated, allowing administrators to register a BackRoll server within CloudStack, define backup plans, and execute scheduled tasks. Backups are stored externally and indexed to allow rapid recovery of entire VMs or individual files. The plugin supports backup from primary storage and optionally cross-zone recovery scenarios, making it suitable for enterprise-grade deployments.
