About weSystems – More Than Just Cloud
At weSystems, we see ourselves not merely as a provider of cloud infrastructure, but as a strategic enabler for our clients. Based in Germany, we specialize in IT infrastructure and managed services tailored to the specific needs of businesses that require precision, reliability, and flexibility. Whether it’s public, private, or hybrid cloud environments, we guide our clients through every step – from initial strategic considerations to planning and deployment, and into day-to-day operations. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all architectures. Instead, we build infrastructure that reflects our clients’ real-world workflows, industry requirements, and long-term goals. Our teams combine deep technical expertise with a strong service culture, because we know that even the most elegant architecture is only as good as the people behind it. One of the key components of our offering is a cloud environment built on Apache CloudStack, and we’ve never regretted this decision. Quite the opposite: It remains one of the strongest elements of our platform, and one that we constantly evolve and improve.
Why Apache CloudStack? Intuitive power with enterprise control
Our choice of Apache CloudStack wasn’t made lightly. We needed a platform that was robust, proven, and open, but also intuitive and practical in day-to-day operations. Apache CloudStack delivered all of that and more. One of the standout advantages is its remarkably clear and intuitive GUI. From our own DevOps engineers to end users and even less technical project stakeholders, the interface wins people over instantly. Everything from virtual machine provisioning to advanced networking and security management is accessible without needing to dig through layers of abstraction or vendor-specific terminology. The learning curve is short, and the control is precise. But it’s not just about looks. Technically, CloudStack is a powerhouse. We’re particularly still impressed by the rich and highly flexible networking capabilities. Whether it’s isolated networks, shared VLANs, Virtual Private Clouds, or more complex, software-defined topologies, CloudStack allows us to model customer-specific network architectures that go far beyond the standard offerings of many hyperscalers. This flexibility makes CloudStack the ideal foundation for complex, multi-tier cloud projects with high security and availability demands. We’ve found the platform to be stable, scalable, and API-rich, making integration and automation straightforward. It’s also remarkably efficient in resource utilization, allowing us to keep operational costs low without compromising on performance or resilience.
The Challenge: An ERP environment pushing against its limits
When Domain 6, a leading ERP integrator with a global client base and more than 150 Microsoft Dynamics Navision implementations, approached us, they were looking for a better infrastructure partner for a demanding client case. Their customer had outgrown its previous cloud environment, facing constant performance issues, limited scalability, and unacceptable downtime. The system was becoming difficult and expensive to maintain, while security, backup, and disaster recovery remained unreliable at best. To make matters worse, the customer lacked responsive technical support. They needed a platform that could evolve with their business, one that didn’t require overhauling infrastructure every time the workload changed.
The Solution: Custom-Built ERP Cloud with weSystems and CloudStack
Together with Domain 6, we designed and deployed a tailored infrastructure solution based on Apache CloudStack within the weSystems cloud. This environment now powers the customer’s Microsoft Dynamics Navision deployment, and the transformation was immediate. We used CloudStack’s customizable templates to create a ready-to-deploy blueprint for each business unit’s ERP needs, allowing Domain 6 to spin up new, secure Navision instances in minutes. The underlying infrastructure was architected for high availability, with automatic failover and distributed storage, ensuring that even during heavy usage, the system remains responsive and resilient. Thanks to CloudStack’s advanced networking features, we could mirror the customer’s existing business segmentation in the cloud. Each department operates in its secure environment, with granular firewall rules, VPN access, and load-balanced entry points. And because weSystems offers continuous managed service support, Domain 6 no longer needs to worry about infrastructure troubleshooting. Our team is just a direct call or message away. No ticket ping-pong, no endless waiting loops.
Real results, real value
The impact? A reduction in infrastructure costs, driven by more efficient resource utilization and our transparent, usage-based pricing model. Performance bottlenecks disappeared, uptime went from unreliable to near-perfect, and both Domain 6 and their end customer gained the confidence to scale without fear of breaking things.
“Together with weSystems, we have transformed our customers’ operations with unmatched flexibility and cost efficiency. Their ERP system runs seamlessly, and weSystems’ support team is always there for us, providing invaluable support and consultation.”

For us at weSystems, this collaboration was more than just another cloud deployment. It was a confirmation of what’s possible when you combine deep technical capabilities, a flexible open-source foundation, and a human-first service model. Apache CloudStack continues to be a cornerstone of our platform, not just for what it enables technically, but for how it empowers our clients to think bigger and act faster. With CloudStack, we can build not just infrastructure, but a true platform for digital evolution. Whether you’re looking to modernize your ERP hosting, roll out secure environments across business units, or launch a multi-cloud application landscape, our team is here to design the right solution with you, not just for you.
