In 2025, we mark an important milestone: 13 years of the CloudStack Collaboration Conference as the biggest CloudStack Community gathering. For a growing, global open-source community, it’s a moment of pride, reflection, and gratitude.
13 Years of Connection and Collaboration
The CloudStack Collaboration Conference (CCC) was born in 2012 in Las Vegas — a gathering fueled by curiosity, innovation, and the belief that technology thrives when people connect. Over the past 13 years, CCC has evolved — sometimes as an independent event, other times as part of ApacheCon — but always with the same mission: to keep the CloudStack community connected, engaged, and inspired.
Through more than a decade of shared experiences, we’ve learned that connection is as essential as code. With nothing but passion and a shared sense of purpose, we launched our first online edition of CCC. It has always been about talking, collaborating, and building great technology together.
13 years later, CCC remains a celebration of community, creativity, and connection — and the journey is far from over.
From Niche to Hybrid and Growing into a Global Event
Throughout its existence, the CloudStack Collaboration Conference experienced steady growth. In 2022, the CloudStack community took a bold step forward and hosted its first hybrid event in Sofia, Bulgaria, combining in-person interaction with global live streaming. The turnout was strong, with enthusiastic participation from speakers, sponsors, and attendees. The exhibition space was buzzing with demos, success stories, and open-source innovations.
In 2023, we moved to Paris, thanks to our local partner DIMSI, and once again brought the community together. 2024 took us to Madrid, with incredible support from Jotelulu. And now in 2025, we’re heading to Milan, partnering with CDLAN – ready to celebrate this five-year milestone in style.

Over the years, we’ve welcomed attendees from 50+ countries. Each year, our attendance grows by 25–32%, and our mission remains the same: to bring together people who build, use, and innovate with Apache CloudStack.

As one of the people helping to organise the event, I believe 2023 and 2024 were game-changing years for Apache CloudStack. With major shifts in the cloud and virtualization markets, more and more companies are realising that open-source can be the backbone of their infrastructure – ensuring vendor independence, cost efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
Our 2025 event will reflect this new market reality. We’re showcasing not just technical advancements, but also the business strategies and success stories that prove CloudStack’s value in production environments.

For me personally, the goal has always been to grow steadily, maintain high-quality talks, and foster strong collaboration with all supporting organisations.
